This morning we delivered a pressure garment with some Elasto-gel to our little burn victim. At first he was very scared; with a few nurses and some pale therapists who wouldn’t be! After realizing that this does not hurt at all, the little buddy gathered some courage and ended up dancing and playing with everyone.
The Mawenzi
therapists really took as one of their own. We met babies that had deformities
in their feet caused by rickets. Adults had radialis fractures and lower back
pains (a problem well known in Finland as well). We brought some donated items,
e.g. walker, triangle linens and wrist supports. Our cooperation continues on
Saturday because we were asked to spend an evening with the therapists.
Apparently we will go dancing, let’s see if the Finns can do anything with
African rhythms!
